Hybrid BC Controller

City Multi HVRF – the best of both worlds

Innovative and truly exemplary: the Hybrid City Multi system (HVRF) is the world’s first 2-pipe system to provide simultaneous cooling and heating with heat recovery, combining the strengths of a direct evaporation system and those of a chilled water system. This innovative solution stands out not only as a result of its high energy efficiency, individual comfort and low requirement for planning, installation and maintenance work, but also thanks to its reduced refrigerant volume in particular.

The HBC controller – the innovative centrepiece

As the centrepiece, the HBC controller connects the outdoor unit to the indoor units and enables the heat transfer between the refrigerant in the external circuit and the water in the internal circuit. The inverter-driven pumps are built in and pump the water to the last indoor unit located up to 90 metres away.

Plate heat exchangers

The energy exchange between the refrigerant and the water system takes place here. Each HBC controller generally features two sets of plate heat exchangers that feed hot water into the system in heating mode and supply cold water to the system in cooling mode. In the mixed mode, one heat exchanger assumes the cooling function while another takes on the heating function.

Pumps

Two inverter-controlled pumps supply the cooled or heated water to the connected indoor units. The volume supplied by the pump depends on the actual heat and cooling demand.

Valve block

The valve block ensures that each indoor unit is individually supplied with the necessary volume of hot or cold water.

Fit for the buildings of the future

Ideal for use in hotels, large office complexes and much more besides: having been specially developed to meet the requirements of modern building architecture with high demands in terms of efficiency and comfort, each individual indoor unit can be operated independently in heating or cooling mode. The heat recovery makes operation particularly efficient, with the heat that is drawn from the areas needing to be cooled ultimately being used to heat other locations.
